Vitebsk region will strengthen relations with Russian regions by signing three agreements in Sochi, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Economy Committee reported.
Vitebsk region, September 17-18, will take part in the second Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus in Sochi, where the signing of agreements with Russian partners at the regional administration level is planned. In particular, the Belarusian side intends to strengthen cooperation with the governments of Ivanovo region and the Republic of Bashkortostan, as well as the administration of Pskov region in the trade-economic, scientific-technical, cultural and humanitarian spheres. In addition, a plan of measures for the agreement for 2015-2016 will be signed with the aforementioned neighboring Russian region.
The Economy Committee noted that these documents will consolidate the existing partnerships that have been established between individual enterprises of the two countries. An example of this during the forum will be the signing of contracts and dealer agreements with Russian partners by Verkhnedvinsk Butter and Cheese Factory for 100 million Russian rubles, Orsha Flax Mill (6 million Russian rubles), and the management company of the holding "Belarusian Leather and Footwear Company "Marko" (2.5 billion Russian rubles).
These same enterprises, along with Glubokoye Meat Processing Plant and SOOO "Belwest", will present the region's industrial production at the exhibition fair from September 14-18. In addition, two major footwear companies and OAO "Monolit" will participate in the event with their own expositions. UP "Vitebskoblgaz", which is sending its amateur group "Militsa" to the exhibition, will be responsible for the entertainment component of the presentation.
