In 2009, the Vitebsk region allocated Br360 billion for energy-saving measures.
February 1, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. In 2009, Br360 billion was allocated for energy-saving measures in the Vitebsk region, as reported to a BELTA correspondent by Alexander Kravchenko, head of the Vitebsk Regional Department for Supervision of the Rational Use of Fuel and Energy Resources.
A number of large-scale energy-saving projects were implemented through the invested funds, which resulted in a significant reduction in fuel and energy resources (FER) consumption. In particular, a 1 MW cogeneration unit was commissioned at the "Tsentralnaya" boiler house of Lepel KUPP Housing and Communal Services. The estimated annual savings of FER as a result of its implementation will amount to 1.3 thousand tons of conventional fuel. At the Lukomlskaya State District Power Station, power unit No. 4 was modernized, increasing its capacity by 15 MW. This will improve the efficiency of electricity generation and equipment reliability, as well as provide savings of 19 thousand tons of conventional fuel per year.
In addition, in 2009, 10 boiler units operating on local fuels (LF) with mechanized loading were launched in the region, which will result in an annual increase in LF utilization by 11.85 thousand tons of conventional fuel. Serious energy-saving projects were also implemented at Naftan OJSC, Polimir OJSC, and Vitebskenergo RUP. Due to all the measures taken, the energy saving indicator for the Vitebsk region at the end of 2009 was minus 9.5%.
Alexander Kravchenko noted that great attention is paid to increasing the use of local fuels. "In 2008, the region exceeded the one million mark (1056 thousand tons of conventional fuel) for LF consumption. In 2009, this figure increased by another 73.6 thousand tons of conventional fuel. At the same time, the share of LF in the region's fuel balance was 15.3% against the target of 13.9%, and in the fuel balance of the region's housing and communal services - 43.8%," the head noted. -0-
