Vitebsk region in 2015 will focus on modernization in radio electronics and machine tool construction
Vitebsk region in 2015 will focus on modernization in the radio electronics and machine tool industries, said today the Chairman of the Economics Committee of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Svyatoslav Zarovsky, at an extraordinary session of the regional council of deputies, reports a BELTA correspondent. BELTA.
Measures for the development of these industries and increasing the competitiveness of products have been included as an addition to the regional council's decision of December 18, 2009 No. 196 "On the Approval of the Program 'Development of the Industrial Complex of Vitebsk Region until 2015'". In particular, it is planned to create production facilities for steam sterilizers and air thermostats at OJSC "Vityaz", export-oriented new generation electronic auto components at OJSC "Vitebsk Plant of Electrical Measuring Equipment", import-substituting components for electronic control systems of hydraulic drives of mobile machines at the "Izmeritel" plant, and a wide range of gear-cutting equipment with numerical control at OJSC "Vistan".
"The implementation of these measures will increase production volumes in the mentioned industries by more than 12% and exports by more than 10%. The range of manufactured products will be expanded, electricity savings will be ensured, and 40 jobs will be created," noted Svyatoslav Zarovsky. He emphasized that given the ongoing changes in market conditions and increasing consumer demands, such measures for the development of the industrial complex are extremely necessary. At the same time, the enterprises "Vizas", "Evistor" and some others are focused only on such industrial giants of the republic as MAZ, Gomselmash, MTZ, and are weakly engaged in the development of new types of products and sales markets. The current state of affairs needs to be changed without delay, stated Svyatoslav Zarovsky.
Overall, according to him, the program adopted in 2009 yields real results. Efforts to improve product quality enable it to compete in the global market. Enterprises in the region conduct trade operations with 112 countries worldwide. The share of industrial enterprises' exports for January-September of the current year in the total export volume of the region amounted to over 62%, or $1.3 billion.
80% of the events planned by the program (over 600) have been implemented, with approximately Br19 trillion allocated for this purpose. Over 200 production capacities have been introduced, and the production of over 600 types of innovative products and 150 types of import-substituting products has been mastered. The equipment fleet has been updated. The implementation of the program allowed for an increase in industrial production output in 2013 by more than 20% compared to the 2009 level. The share of shipped innovative products grew from 21% in 2010 to 31% in 2013. The share of inventories did not exceed 33%. Positive dynamics in these indicators, as well as in product sales and sales profitability, are also observed in the current year.
