Vitebsk region laid a solid foundation for economic growth in 2018 in 2017, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev told reporters.
"I can say with confidence that next year will be much more successful. In 2017, the Vitebsk region created a serious backlog for the economy to grow in 2018," said the head of the region.
He noted that the outgoing year was not easy for the region. "But, despite all the problems, including very difficult climatic conditions, the region has taken a step forward in economic development. We have stabilized the situation regarding payments and debt obligations," Nikolai Sherstnev emphasized.
