The Vitebsk region contributed its million tons of grain to the national harvest

The millionth ton of grain was harvested at OAO "Shaiterovo" (Verkhnedvinsk district), where the yield from the grain fields was 51.6 centners per hectare. In total, in the Verkhnedvinsk district, whose agrarians achieved the highest yield among the districts of the region this year - 43 centners per hectare, 70% of the areas have already been harvested, and 66 thousand tons of grain have been threshed.

Yesterday, the best combine operators of the farm were honored in the fields of OAO "Shaiterovo" (Verkhnedvinsk district). The deputy chairman Vladimir Terentyev performed this honorable mission on behalf of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. He presented the front-rank workers with certificates for household appliances.

The selfless work of the grain growers and the dominance of technology have allowed the Vitebsk region to grow a worthy grain harvest. This was stated by Vladimir Terentyev.

"The grain growers of Vitebsk region are celebrating a double holiday: in addition to reaching the milestone of one million tons of grain, the region has fulfilled the plan for delivering grain for the state order by 100%. 145 thousand tons of selected grain have been stored, with 90 thousand tons being wheat. This is a serious result, and it has been achieved largely thanks to the work of the grain growers and the dominance of technology. It is no coincidence that a number of districts - Orshansky, Verkhnedvinsk, Dubrovensky, Beshenkovichsky - exceed the national average yield," noted the deputy chairman of the regional executive committee.

He emphasized that in the Verkhnedvinsk district, where the long-awaited millionth ton was threshed, they are harvesting 43 centners of grain per hectare this year. "This is a very serious result for one of the northernmost districts of the country. People have proven more than once with their labor that this is not a coincidence, but systematic work by both managers and grain growers," stated Vladimir Terentyev. "And a number of farms in the region - "Larinovka", "Klevtsy", "Olgovskoye" - are threshing about 60 centners per hectare."

Almost 80% of the grain and leguminous crops have been threshed in the region. About 1.7 thousand harvesters and 3.5 thousand units of other equipment go out to the fields every day.

According to operational data as of the morning of August 17, in the Vitebsk region, grain has been threshed from 77% of the areas, with an average yield of 34.4 c/ha, while last year on this date it was 28.9 c/ha.
