Vitebsk region fulfilled the five-year plan for the growth rate of consumer goods and trade turnover in 4 years
December 10, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The Vitebsk region has fulfilled the five-year target for the growth rate of consumer goods, trade turnover and capital investment in less than four years, the chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, announced today at a meeting of the presidium of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
In January-October of the current year, the growth rate of industrial production at comparable prices was 108.3% compared to the same period in 2008, and consumer goods - 105.6%. Compared to the beginning of the five-year period, the volume of industrial production and consumer goods has increased by almost 1.5 times. Since 2005, Br13 trillion has been allocated to finance investment activities, with one-third of this amount in 2009.
"In 2010, the region's economy will face a difficult task - to fulfill the five-year target by November 1. The task is difficult, but achievable," said Alexander Kosinets. The region needs to eliminate the lag in light industry enterprises, the construction sector, and agriculture.
The chairman of the regional executive committee demanded that the heads of enterprises and districts review business development plans, focusing on the production of innovative and import-substituting products, reducing the energy intensity of products, increasing their profitability, and improving labor productivity.
As Alexander Kosinets emphasized, the fulfillment of the parameters of the forecast for the socio-economic development of Belarus for 2010, approved by the decree of the head of state, is a guarantee of income growth for the population and the successful development of the social sphere. -0-
