The Vitebsk region is interested in establishing a joint venture for the processing of dry milk in Astrakhan
A delegation from the Vitebsk region, led by the governor, recently paid a business visit to the Volgograd and Astrakhan regions of Russia. "Our products are in demand there in any volume. This applies to meat and dairy products, light industry products, and machinery. Interregional agreements have been concluded, and we will develop cooperation in culture, tourism, and sports. In general, all areas of cooperation have been worked out. Several serious projects of economic interaction have been outlined," the governor noted.
Nikolai Sherstnev elaborated on two of these projects. "A dairy plant has been built in Astrakhan, which cannot be launched due to a lack of raw materials. An agreement has been reached that our specialists-technologists will visit the plant in the near future. They will assess the situation, and we will decide what can be organized there. Perhaps we will create a joint venture. We are interested in this because we will be able to process our own raw materials in Astrakhan – dry milk produced by the region's enterprises," he explained. The second project may be implemented jointly with the Volgograd enterprise "Volma." "This enterprise uses dolomite in the production of drywall. We have agreed, considering our common interests, to discuss the possibilities of investing in our enterprise 'Dolomit' for modernization. Preliminary consent has been received. We are expecting a Russian delegation in May. I think we will manage to reach an agreement," the governor summarized.
