The Vitebsk region has completed the storage of vegetables for the off-season period, the trade and services department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. A total of 10.2 thousand tons of potatoes have been stored in the region's storage facilities for the upcoming off-season period, which is 116% of last year's level, 5 thousand tons of cabbage (111%), 1.6 thousand tons of carrots (113%), 1.4 thousand tons of beets (107%), 1.5 thousand tons of onions (112%), and 520 tons of apples (105%). The storage of livestock products for stabilization funds - butter, dry milk, cottage cheese, and cheese - has been completed by 100%. The harvest will be stored in 64 storage facilities with a total storage capacity of 42.3 thousand tons. Seven of them with a capacity of 3.8 thousand tons are managed by trade enterprises, 26 with a capacity of 11.4 thousand tons by consumer cooperation organizations, and 31 with a capacity of 27.1 thousand tons by agricultural organizations. In addition, in October, in addition to existing facilities, a fruit storage facility with a capacity of 2.4 thousand tons was commissioned at the Tolochin Cannery. In order to give the products a marketable appearance, sorting and packaging lines for processing potatoes and root crops have been installed in Orsha at the "Teplichny" branch of RUP "Vitebskenergo" and at the "Olgovskoye" farm in the Vitebsk region. -0-
