The Vitebsk regional organization of the Belarusian Union of Officers celebrates its 15th anniversary.
Today, the walls of the Vitebsk State Technical College, after four years, once again welcomed the delegates of the reporting and election conference. However, this time the event was even more solemn, as this year the Vitebsk regional organization of the NGO "Belarusian Union of Officers" (BSO) celebrates its 15th anniversary. During this time, it has managed to involve the most active reserve and retired officers, uniting them in a patriotic organization that has preserved the best traditions of officer brotherhood.
The Vitebsk regional organization of the NGO "BSO" includes 12 primary, 17 district, and 3 city organizations, as well as over 1000 reserve and retired officers, officers serving in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Belarus, other troops and military formations, units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Investigative Committee, and Prosecutor's Office.
The regional organization of the NGO "BSO" actively participates in all significant socio-political, civic-patriotic, and educational events, and also supports the policy of the Head of State. Throughout its existence, the organization has repeatedly been recognized with awards from the Belarusian Union of Officers.
– In 2018, we became the winners of the republican campaign "The Belarusian Union of Officers Raises Patriots for the Country," in 2019 and 2020 we took second place, and based on our work, we were also awarded the Challenge Red Banner as the best organization in the Republic, – noted Sergey Denisov. – The Shumilino district organization was also the best in the republic for two consecutive years, and the Polotsk organization once. Our main task is the patriotic education of youth, and we strive to fulfill it. For example, during the reporting period alone, we visited about 500 schools in Vitebsk and the Vitebsk region.
The fact that the Vitebsk region organization is one of the most successful in the country was also noted in his speech by the Deputy Chairman of the Republican Council of the Belarusian Union of Officers, retired Colonel Vasily Skrinnikov, who recalled the awarding of the Challenge Red Banner and other merits of the regional organization.
– Despite the known epidemiological difficulties, you have not slowed down your activities this year, therefore, the Republican Council of the Belarusian Union of Officers sincerely thanks you for your selfless work for the benefit of native Belarus, – Vasily Skrinnikov addressed the audience.
The Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Vladimir Penin, congratulated the officers of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Belarusian Union of Officers on the holiday and thanked them for their work.
– General Mikhail Ivanovich Dragomirov once said: "An officer in our time is not only a military rank, but also something more: he is a public figure in the civil sense of the word, because he is called to play a role, and not the least, in the education of the people. The army is not only an armed force, but also a school for educating the people, preparing them for public life." Although these words were spoken a long time ago, they are still relevant today, and the officers of the Vitebsk region are proof of this, – noted Vladimir Petrovich.
The final chord of the event was the solemn awarding of the most active officers of the Dvina region, as well as a festive concert dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Belarusian Union of Officers.
