The Vitebsk regional exhibition within the framework of the project «100 ideas for Belarus» has grown into an open dialogue

Витебская областная выставка в рамках проекта «100 идей для Беларуси» переросла в открытый диалог
Not just a presentation of projects by their authors and questions from the expert commission, but also questions from the youth to the experts themselves – it was in this format that the meeting was organized at the RUP "Vitebskoblgaz".

Not just a presentation of projects by their authors and questions from the expert commission, but also questions from the youth to the experts themselves – it was in this format that the meeting was organized at the RUP "Vitebskoblgaz". Representatives of the Central Committee of the BRSM, the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, the regional executive committee, the Association of Employers and Entrepreneurs, the community of rationalizers, the Institute of Technical Acoustics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, public associations, and the press took part in the discussion. As noted by Igor Buzovsky, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the BRSM, the ideas of the younger generation should be heard, as well as their problems, which is why the decision was made to hold an open dialogue with the participants titled "Youth of Belarus: Traditions and Prospects". Students from schools, secondary vocational and higher education institutions, and young employees of enterprises from different parts of the Vitebsk region were interested in many things. Such activity cannot but please; it indicates an active involvement in the processes taking place in the country. And the project "100 Ideas for Belarus" proves that our youth are thoughtful, brave, and active. According to Vladimir Terentyev, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, it is very important that such a platform for initiatives exists today.

– The project provides an opportunity for self-realization. Once, a youth organization offered such an opportunity to many of today's well-known leaders at various levels. The future belongs to the youth. Thank you for not sitting idly by, but for seeking ideas to advance our country in all aspects, – noted Vladimir Vladimirovich.

The expert commission was presented with the 16 best projects out of those received by the regional committee of the BRSM this year. Some of them concerned social issues, others were aimed at solving problems of energy saving, resource conservation, and touched upon medicine and biology, as well as the IT sphere, in which, undoubtedly, young minds hold leading positions.

It is gratifying to note that children begin to think about how to save energy resources, for example, from their school years. Two students from Secondary School No. 1 in Dubrovno were particularly impressive. For instance, Evgeny Boginov invented a device that can detect heat loss in a room. His comparator functions like a thermal imager but costs much less. Incidentally, the device's casing was made from... a computer mouse! And Maxim Kiselev presented to the exhibition participants a device he constructed that helps reduce electricity consumption. It is installed on a door that is frequently opened during the day, thereby accumulating mechanical energy, which is then transferred to a battery that charges a neon light. Thus, by evening, the entrance is illuminated without consuming electricity. We would like to express our gratitude to Evgeny and Maxim's physics teacher, Alexander Iosifovich Shturo, who nurtures the students' talents. We hope the students' ideas will not go unnoticed and will find practical application. This also applies to other participants, whose ideas are no less interesting. For example, PSU student Boris Konovalchuk proposed a design for a vertical lift for people with disabilities, Alexander Tumovsky, a student at Vitebsk Instrument Engineering Lyceum No. 5, created a website management system, and Sergey Legkostupov, a junior researcher at the Institute of Technical Acoustics, presented an import substitution project "Development of a Colorectal TiNi Stand", which is used in medicine. Several ideas were dedicated to attracting tourists to the cities and villages of the Vitebsk region.

An expert commission has selected 10 projects that will represent the region at the republican exhibition. Three authors of the best ideas received grants of 500 thousand rubles from the regional committee of the BRSM. The amount, though small, proves that one can earn money with their intellect and find funds to implement their ideas. By the way, the implementation of innovative projects can be financed by the regional executive committee, which has established a special fund. Svetlana Medvedskaya, Head of the Investment and Innovation Department of the Regional Executive Committee's Economics Committee, spoke about the opportunities provided to the participants. Olga Kholodovich, a strategy and marketing consultant and member of the Association of Employers and Entrepreneurs, explained how an idea can grow into a business and generate income.
