Vitebsk poultry farm to receive state support for broiler shop construction - Roman Golovchenko

JSC "Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm" has proven through its work results that the new project of the enterprise's investment program deserves state support in preferential bank lending. This was stated by Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko during a working trip to the Vitebsk region.

Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm is building a number of facilities under its investment program. Among them is broiler shop No. 3 near the village of Trigubtsy, Vitebsk district. Equipment worth over Br4 million has already been purchased, and the volume of construction and installation work performed is over Br6 million. The commissioning of the first site is planned for the current year, and the second for 2022. Construction is currently ahead of schedule, but may slow down due to dwindling resources.

Roman Golovchenko visited the construction site in person. "We are talking about large investments, but the expectations are also very good. The enterprise is operating with a profit in all indicators. The plans are very ambitious: to increase production from 60 thousand tons to 90 thousand tons of poultry. And to do this at a new technological level. This is important, especially considering the emergence of new biological threats - poultry farming is highly dependent on compliance with all standards. Additional funds need to be invested in security and disinfection systems," said Roman Golovchenko.

He clarified that he, along with other government representatives, came to personally ensure that the project is worthy of state participation in preferential lending for its implementation.

"I am confident that this sector of the economy, important not only for the Vitebsk region but for all of Belarus, will receive state support, and we will achieve the results outlined in the business plan," said Roman Golovchenko.

There is currently a difficult situation with liquidity in the banking system, which is why even very attractive projects face difficulties in obtaining large loans. "The state's role is precisely in subsidizing under Decree No. 347, which allows for the reimbursement of up to 25% of capital expenditure costs through budget transfers," explained the Prime Minister. "We have switched to this system to encourage borrowers to build faster and, most importantly, to reach design capacity quickly."

Also, a poultry slaughter and processing workshop with a capacity of 9,000 birds per hour is being built in Trigubtsy. Equipment worth over Br70 million has been purchased, and the volume of work performed exceeds Br11 million. Commissioning is planned for 2022. A cattle slaughter and processing unit will appear nearby. And near the urban settlement of Yanovichi in the Vitebsk region, a seed drying and sorting line is being reconstructed.

The production facilities of the poultry farm's investment program are included in the state program "Agrarian Business" for 2021-2025. In addition to the aforementioned facilities, this program includes the reconstruction of poultry slaughter and processing workshop No. 2 into a finished products workshop (implementation period - 2022), the reconstruction of compound feed production (2022-2024), and the construction of the "Kurino" MTC for 1440 heads (2024-2025). The total investment amount for all facilities reaches almost Br431.27 million.

Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Factory JSC is the only enterprise in the Vitebsk region for industrial poultry meat production with a complete closed production cycle – from obtaining hatching eggs and raising young stock to the full processing of poultry meat into ready-made semi-finished products, smoked products, sausages, and their sale through its own branded retail network.

According to the results of January-May 2021, the growth rate of gross output at comparable prices was 103.4%. Significant results were also achieved in animal husbandry. As of June 1, the cattle population exceeded 11.3 thousand, which is 10.9% higher than last year's figure. For 5 months of this year, 13,354.5 tons of milk were produced (6.6% higher than in 2020). Milk yield per cow was 3140 kg, and milk commerciality was 93.5%.

The value of goods exported in January-May amounted to $9.8 million, which is 63.1% higher than in the same period of 2020. At the same time, 13% of the factory's meat products are sold through its own branded retail network, which includes 35 stores, 24 retail outlets and kiosks, 7 mobile shops, 3 market stalls, and 10 catering establishments. A total of 79 outlets.
