Vitebsk customs processes 25% of export certificates electronically

July 15, Minsk /BELTA/. The Vitebsk customs has started processing 25% of export certificates in electronic form, the State Customs Committee's press service informed BELTA. By September 2009, the customs plans to reach a 50% level of customs clearance for export goods in electronic form. Currently, the Vitebsk customs is actively developing the electronic declaration system for goods not as an experiment, but within the framework of the National Automated Electronic Declaration System (NAEDS). In the operational zone of the customs, export goods transported by road and rail are cleared through electronic declaration at the customs clearance points: "Vitebsk-Tsentralny", "Vitebsk", "Orsha-Beltamozhservice", and "Orsha-Vostochnaya". A large share of electronic customs documents is presented for customs clearance by the Vitebsk branch of RUP "Beltamozhservice". Currently, about 30 economic entities carry out electronic declaration through this branch. A number of enterprises with the status of "Conscientious Foreign Economic Activity Participant" (ICHUP "Vitebsk Sawmill", OJSC "Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate Plant of Novolukoml", OJSC "Vitebsk Carpets", RUPP "Stankozavod "Krasny Borets", ODO "God Wood"), having fulfilled all the necessary conditions for participation in electronic declaration, plan to submit or are already submitting declarations to the customs in electronic form independently. At the same time, the number of participants in the electronic declaration system is constantly growing. When transporting goods by rail, the Vitebsk branch of Belarusian Railways also participates in the electronic declaration system, acting as a carrier and submitting electronic customs transit documents to the customs. In addition, since July of this year, the Vitebsk customs has begun registering statistical export declarations submitted in electronic form. The first enterprise to submit an electronic statistical declaration was OJSC "Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Factory".-0-
