Vitebsk Customs Notes Increased Cross-Border Attractiveness of the Region
The cross-border attractiveness of the Vitebsk region is growing. This is noted by specialists of the Vitebsk customs, summarizing the results of work for the half-year.
Thus, in the first half of the year, compared to the same period in 2017, there was an increase of 16.5 percent in the number of declarations submitted for goods. The number of export declarations increased by 24 percent.

The number of foreign economic activity participants has also increased: as of July 2018, there are 626 of them, which is 9 percent higher than the level of the first quarter.
In the "Polotsk" border crossing point, the process of transferring certain border control functions to customs officers is underway, and work is also being carried out to organize the customs clearance process in the multimodal logistics complex "Bolbasovo". This and other activities of the customs service are aimed at optimizing customs processes and additionally attracting business entities to the region.
