Vitebsk Customs plans to increase staff numbers during the II European Games
Vitebsk customs is ready for an increase in passenger and transport flow during the II European Games, the customs reported.
"From June 20 to 30, an increase in the number of customs control officers is planned for the shifts. In addition, separate traffic lanes have been allocated at the "Grigorovshchina" and "Urbany" checkpoints for participants and guests of the II European Games, which will significantly reduce border crossing time if participants have the necessary documents or tickets for the competitions," the Vitebsk customs noted.
Currently, the commissioning of the first stage of the modernized "Urbany" checkpoint is being completed. After the full reconstruction of the road checkpoint, the throughput at this section of the border alone will exceed 1,000 vehicles per day. Daily in May, an average of about 1.4 thousand cars, trucks, and buses pass through the "Urbany" and "Grigorovshchina" road checkpoints for entry and exit from the country. The norms for vehicles crossing the Latvian-Belarusian border are being fully met.
