Vitebsk Customs has expedited the clearance of goods imported into the EAEU customs territory. More than 95% of such cargo shipments are cleared in less than two hours, the department reported.

"In the first half of 2020, this figure exceeded the same period in 2019 by 14%. At the same time, the share of goods shipments exported from the EAEU customs territory cleared in less than 5 minutes was 94%, which also exceeds the level of the same period last year by 9%. The contactless method of operation is also effectively implemented: more than 9 thousand shipments of exported goods were released automatically, i.e. without the involvement of a customs officer," the department noted.

The reduction in goods release times indicates the effectiveness of the customs measures taken to reduce the time for goods clearance, and is also an important component of a set of measures to simplify foreign economic activities, which allows reducing the costs of economic entities and forming comfortable conditions for doing business.
