The Vitebsk Veterinary Academy hosted the first regional forum of agricultural classes "The Future Belongs to Youth!"
250 potential students of higher and secondary vocational agricultural institutions are taking part in the two-day event. The schoolchildren were welcomed by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev. He spoke about the prospects for the development of the agro-industrial complex of the Vitebsk region in the coming years and assured that by the time the students graduate from universities, the production and social base in rural areas will be completely different, meeting modern requirements.
The rich program of the forum includes the exhibition "Agro-Professions Exchange", interactive platforms, an agro-quest, a tour of the VSAVM, an exchange of experience among educators, and a flash mob "This is Our Choice!".
Tomorrow, the schoolchildren will visit JSC "Vitebsk Motor Repair Plant", agro-complex "Yanovichi" of JSC "Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Factory", RUP "Vitebsk Zonal Institute of Agriculture of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", JSC "Moloko", UP "Rudakovo", SPK "MazolovoGaz". After the excursions, a dialogue platform "Agro-Industrial Complex of the Vitebsk Region: Innovations and Prospects" will be held with the participation of the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev.
Agroclasses were created for students familiar with rural life, with the aim of orienting them towards admission to specialized universities. In the current academic year, there are 88 agroclasses operating in the Vitebsk region, with more than 660 students enrolled.
