Vitebsk businessmen will represent the region's interests in the newly formed Council for the Development of Entrepreneurship in the Republic of Belarus.

Its composition and some operational issues are defined by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 534 of November 29, 2012. The list of Council members includes representatives of large, medium and small businesses, entrepreneurial structures and public associations. From the Vitebsk region, the Council includes a member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, General Director of SOOO "Marko", Chairman of the Public Council for the Development of Entrepreneurship under the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Martynov, as well as the Chairman of the Association of Employers and Entrepreneurs, General Director of OOO "Allianceplast" Nikolai Silinov. The Decree outlines some functions of the Head of the Council. In particular, annually by March 1, it is necessary to submit a report to the President on the activities, state and prospects for the development of entrepreneurship in the country, and to analyze the progress of the implementation of adopted decisions. By the way, the former head of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, Petr Prokopovich, was appointed chairman of the structure.
