Vitebsk road workers reconstructed the M5 highway connecting Minsk and Gomel
One of the recently commissioned facilities where the Vitebsk road builders from seven branches of DST No. 1 worked was the M5 highway connecting Minsk and Gomel. The reconstruction of this highway, which included the renovation of a 77.8 km section with five interchanges between Bobruisk and Zhlobin, was started by specialists in August 2015. DST No. 1 completed its scope of work – 20.8 km were built, and since the beginning of July, motorists have been able to test the new pavement, appreciating the advantages of driving on the high-speed highway. The mobile asphalt concrete plant significantly helped the road builders in their work, allowing them to produce the necessary amount of concrete for construction. The use of modern technologies, equipment, and machinery, according to **Oleg Kaptsevich, General Director of DST No. 1**, enabled the road builders to complete the assigned task with high quality and on time.
— The joint activity of the Chinese investor as the general contractor with Belarusian road builders satisfied both parties, despite the very high requirements for the quality of work at the facility. But the experience was useful, as we will have to implement joint projects and expand the geography of our work in the future, — emphasized Oleg Vadimovich.
At the reconstruction stage, the Vitebsk road builders used their entire arsenal of equipment: motor graders, asphalt pavers, excavators, loaders, bulldozers, dump trucks, and a gravel spreader. All specialists and mechanisms have already returned to Vitebsk, and the mobile asphalt concrete plant and the construction camp, which includes service modules and residential trailers, will be transferred to the Grodno region. There, at the end of August, DST No. 1 employees will begin the reconstruction of the M6/E28 highway Minsk — Grodno — border of the Republic of Poland (Bruzgi) with a length of 18 km.
The trust's employees have also been involved in the construction of the second
of the Minsk Ring Road, fifth stage. On a 3.5 km section, the forces of DSU-2 (Polotsk), DSU-7 (Orsha), DSU-26 (Sharkovshchina), DSU-34 (Lepel) were involved, who carried out the construction of the roadbed and interchanges of the transport interchange, and the construction of artificial structures.Currently, DSU-7, as the general contractor, is engaged in the capital repair of the M1 (Brest — Minsk — border of the Russian Federation) within our region. Here, work is underway to reconstruct the power supply and outdoor lighting. The asphalt concrete pavement will be milled with subsequent laying of new. In addition, road workers will widen the roadbed, install a cable barrier, update road signs, and apply markings. A two-kilometer section of the R110 highway (Glubokoe — Postavy — Lintupy — Lithuanian border) near Glubokoe will be transformed, with work to be completed in September of this year.
Pridvinskie trestovtsy continue the construction of a bridge over the Western Dvina on the highway "North-Western Bypass of Vitebsk" (4th commissioning complex), which is planned to be commissioned in October 2017.
