Vitebsk photographers identified the top most popular places for wedding shoots

August 19, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The area near the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee building is the most favorite place for photo shoots of Vitebsk newlyweds. A small survey conducted by a BELTA correspondent among wedding photographers identified the top most popular places for wedding shoots. Unconditional leadership is given to the recently landscaped area near the 19th-century architectural monument, which now houses the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. The preserved natural relief, successfully complemented by noble marble finishes and forging, combined with a magnificent view of the historical monuments of the ancient city and the Summer Amphitheater, creates a beautiful backdrop for romantic wedding photos and films. Photographers give the next spot in the ranking to the 160-meter pedestrian section of Suvorov Street, which became pedestrian this summer. Here are the symbol of Vitebsk - the City Hall, and the recently recreated Resurrection Church. From here, it's a stone's throw to the third place in the top - the monument to Alexander Pushkin and the bridge named after him. With the monument, everything is clear: no one has written about love better than Pushkin, and therefore, taking a picture at the monument has become a good tradition for Vitebsk newlyweds. But the Pushkin Bridge is among the seven bridges that, according to signs, a wedding cortege must drive over, and it is on this bridge that newlyweds hang a "love lock" with their names and throw the key into the Vitba River as a sign of eternal, unbreakable love. The embankment of the Vitba River is slightly behind the monument and the bridge in popularity. Probably because it only appeared on the map of Vitebsk's most beautiful places this year. Despite the fact that work along the river is still ongoing, the section opened for walks this spring has become a favorite resting place for citizens and a photo shoot location for newlyweds. The top five is closed by the artist Ilya Repin's museum-estate in Zdravnevo, which is located a few kilometers from Vitebsk. According to photographers, this place has been a leader for several years, attracting with its folk-rural beauty. Commenting on this unofficial rating, Alexander Mamaev, Deputy Head of the Housing and Communal Services Department of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, noted that Vitebsk newlyweds have duly appreciated the work being done by the city authorities on landscaping. After all, two of the five sites appeared this year. However, the city executive committee does not intend to stop there. Already next year, the restoration of the Holy Assumption Cathedral, located on the steep bank of the Western Dvina, and the landscaping of the adjacent territory are planned to be completed in the regional center, Victory Square will acquire a new look, and work on arranging the Vitebsk embankment, parks and squares of the city will continue. "Newlyweds, tourists, and citizens will face a difficult choice: there will be even more beautiful places in the city," Alexander Mamaev is confident. -0-
