Vitebsk cadets became winners of the IV republican review-competition on drill

Витебские кадеты стали победителями IV республиканского смотра-конкурса по строевой подготовке
Cadets of the Vitebsk Cadet School Won the IV Republican Review Competition for Marching Skills.

In accordance with the program for promoting the establishment and development of cadet education in the Republic of Belarus, the public association "Belarusian Union of Suvorovets and Cadets" annually organizes and holds a review competition. This year, teams from cadet schools of Belarus, the Minsk Suvorov Military School, and specialized lyceums of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations participated.

The review competition was held in two stages. Its program included competitions in individual marching skills, including turns, marching, military salutes, and other elements, and in marching cohesion (performing maneuvers as a team, marching in a ceremonial parade, and performing a marching song).

The cadets from the Vitebsk Cadet School won the Challenge Cup of the Minister of Defense of Belarus.

— The competition was held for the first time at the Vitebsk educational institution. As we can see, the debut was successful. But a worthy result is not a stroke of luck or good fortune. Our guys have been actively preparing for a whole year to demonstrate their skills, — commented the chief judge of the review competition, head of the ideological work and social protection department of the Vitebsk Regional Military Commissariat, Colonel Alexander Marchenko.

— The victory is well-deserved. The educational institution has a good material base for the proper training of cadets, — added the chairman of the republican council of the public association "Belarusian Union of Suvorovets and Cadets," Sergey Zhitiхин.

The second place was taken by the cadets from the specialized lyceum of the Ministry of Emergency Situations from the Gomel region, and the third place by the cadets of the Minsk Suvorov Military School.

Deputy Minister of Defense of Belarus, Major General Sergey Potapenko, congratulated the participants and emphasized that most of them will soon join the ranks of cadets, and drill training is an extremely important element in the training system for future officers. The winners of this competition will take part in the Minsk parade on May 9, 2020, in honor of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

— It is a great honor for every cadet to participate in this review competition, as it is one of the steps in our formation as patriots, defenders of the Fatherland, — said Vice-Sergeant Valery Filipenko from the Vitebsk Cadet School.
