Vitebsk Carpets opened a history hall

The spacious and bright hall features hundreds of exhibits that connect historical eras and stages of the enterprise's development. Among the documents and photographs, there are about 100 samples of carpets from different years.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The enterprise's chronicle dates back to 1898, when the "Russian-Belgian Joint-Stock Company of Vitebsk Flax Spinning Mill" was established. In 1900, after the construction of production buildings, the first tons of yarn were produced. It was supplied to St. Petersburg, Moscow, and beyond the borders of pre-revolutionary Russia. With the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War, the enterprise was evacuated to Altai. In March 1946, a carpet and plush combine was established on the basis of the factory.
