Vitebsk oncologists will familiarize themselves with the organization of specialized care for patients in Monaco and university clinics in Germany, the head of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's healthcare department, Yury Derkach, told a BELTA correspondent.
An agreement on cooperation with foreign medical institutions was discussed with a delegation from the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Health Care Workers, which visited Vitebsk during the IX International Conference "Problems of Medical Ethics in the Modern World."
Representatives of the Vatican visited the regional clinical children's hospital, the regional clinical oncology dispensary, visited the regional specialized children's home and expressed interest in joint work in several areas.
"In addition to an exchange of experience in oncology, it is planned to establish cooperation in organizing palliative care for children. The possibility of equipping the regional specialized children's home with artificial lung ventilation apparatus is being considered. An agreement has been reached to continue the project on the reconstruction of the children's tuberculosis sanatorium in Braslav and the organization of its work," Yury Derkach said.
