Vitebsk squares will become dance floors during the "Slavianski Bazaar", and the streets will turn into exhibition halls

May 28, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Belarus's largest square, Victory Square in Vitebsk, will become a concert venue and a huge dance floor during the XIX International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar". This was announced today at a press conference by Rodion Bass, Director of the Vitebsk Cultural Center and Director of the Directorate of the International Festival of Arts, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. The "Slavianski Bazaar" festival could not fail to involve the restored and transformed Victory Square into its concert orbit. Concerts will be held here for the first time. Along with performances by amateur artists, which everyone can watch for free, there will also be paid concerts by popular artists. Participants of previous Eurovision contests will be the first to take the square-stage on July 10. Rodion Bass did not rule out the possibility that current participants of the Norwegian Eurovision might join them. At least, preliminary agreements have been reached with the producers of performers from Armenia, Israel, Germany, and Azerbaijan. By the way, the choice of these participants was based on bookmakers' odds, which the Festival Directorate actively monitors when inviting artists to Vitebsk. On July 14, Victory Square will be conquered by fans of Dima Bilan. The solo concert of the winner of Eurovision-2008 will be without a grand piano, but promises to be no less spectacular. The prices for both concerts, considering that there will be no seats and the auditorium will be one huge dance floor, will cost only Br15 thousand. Tickets will be sold right at the square. The festival organizers will offer guests not only their most beautiful square but also Suvorov Street, a pedestrian street. Here, on the ancient street, an artists' vernissage will unfold. The embankment of the Western Dvina River will be given to folk artisans for exhibitions and master classes. -0-
