Vitebsk enterprises handed over 17,000 rubles worth of aid to the Red Cross for refugees from Ukraine
The campaign is not a one-off event: as long as there is a need for assistance to refugees, the charity campaign will continue. Ukrainians are arriving in both the Gomel and Vitebsk regions from the conflict zone. "Mainly women with young children and pensioners are coming to Belarus. The number of people is increasing, and they need support. We are providing food packages. Our organization strives to provide all necessary support to the victims. In total, enterprises and organizations in Vitebsk have provided assistance worth almost Br17,000. Of this amount, over Br8,500 worth of food products and over Br8,300 in cash," commented Galina Zhelanova.
The Vitebsk Regional Diagnostic Center also participated in the good deed campaign. The center's employees provided refugees with personal hygiene items, food packages, and clothing. "People have found themselves in trouble, and it is our human duty to simply provide them with feasible assistance. Together with the administration of the diagnostic center, we organized the collection of humanitarian aid," said Elena Antonenko, Chairperson of the primary trade union organization of the healthcare institution.
