Vitebsk entrepreneurs set tasks for the newly elected deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus
The Vitebsk business community met with newly elected deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, who represent the interests of the residents of Pridvinye in the supreme legislative body.
The meeting was initiated by the Association of Employers and Entrepreneurs. By the way, this association was the first in the republic to "engage" the people's elected officials. It is they who will participate in lawmaking, including the creation of regulatory legal acts governing the activities of private structures. Therefore, the entrepreneurs themselves decided to share their problems and pressing issues. The discussion was attended by well-known businessmen of the city, representatives of the regional and city executive committees Valentin Tsvetkov and Elena Zhuravleva, as well as deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus: Sergey Bokhan (Deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission on Industry, Fuel and Energy Complex, Transport and Communications), Mikhail Volkov (Deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission on Education, Culture and Science), Gennady Gritskevich (Deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission on State Construction, Local Self-Government and Regulations), and Alexander Tsetsoho (Chairman of the Standing Commission on Healthcare, Physical Culture, Family and Youth Policy).
– We are committed to close interaction with the authorities. This event is another step towards the state and business, as we have common goals, – noted the executive director of the association, Nina Lukyanova.
Undoubtedly, annual parliamentary hearings on the problems of private sector development would be an important factor in such cooperation. How Directive No. 4 "On the Development of Entrepreneurial Initiative and Stimulation of Business Activity in the Republic of Belarus" is being implemented should be discussed at the highest level. To take stock, to stimulate, to set tasks and solve problems.
Entrepreneurs are concerned about the investment climate, which they currently consider not entirely favorable. It is necessary to work at the legislative level to improve the conditions for implementing projects aimed at developing the infrastructure and production of our region. And to help those who attract external capital. It was not for nothing that it was noted at the meeting with the deputies: foreign investors will come to us when they see that local businesses are comfortable here.
The process of land allocation is very problematic and lengthy. The solution to this issue also cannot do without the help of lawmakers. According to entrepreneurs, rental "relationships" also need to be adjusted. For example, it would be more logical to allow entrepreneurs to buy out unused or long-used property, otherwise there is no point in investing effort and funds in renovating premises that are usually transferred in poor condition. Or owners should manage their property more effectively. There are relevant recommendations in the regulatory documents, but they do not oblige landlords, and therefore are not followed. This needs attention.
– All the voiced problems and proposals are now being summarized and will be sent to the deputies. We sought to discuss what concerns not only representatives of private structures of the Vitebsk region. Solving these issues at the legislative level will contribute to improving the investment and overall business climate in the region and the country. We were heard, and this is important, – emphasized the chairman of the Council of the Public Association "Association of Employers and Entrepreneurs", General Director of Allianceplast LLC, Nikolai Silinov.
