Vitebsk instrument makers will supply KamAZ with an onboard control panel with CAN communication technology
January 5, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. RUP "Vitebsk Plant of Electrical Measuring Instruments" (RUP "VZEP") plans to start supplying a multiplex control panel using CAN communication technology for Russian OJSC "KAMAZ" vehicles in 2010, the plant's chief engineer Vladimir Kolpakov told a BELTA correspondent.
The ЩП-8107 control panel, capable of collecting and transmitting information via the CAN bus, is an in-house development of the enterprise and is designed for installation in Euro-4 class vehicles and above. The multiplex panel allows monitoring of 19 parameters and diagnostics of the vehicle's onboard systems, including displaying indicators affecting driving safety on the monitor. Currently, the enterprise is undergoing state acceptance tests of the product and completing production preparation for serial production. Previously, similar equipment was developed for the Minsk Automobile Plant, which plans to begin serial installation of VZEP multiplex control panels in trucks in 2010.
In addition, in the current year, Vitebsk instrument makers plan to start supplying two new types of instruments under contracts with OJSC "KAMAZ" - PA-8115 speedometers and PT-8114 tachometers.
Over the past three years, VZEP has expanded the range of products supplied to Russian machine builders to eight items. "Although in the first quarter of 2009, there was a decline in activity in cooperation with KamAZ, by the end of the second half of the year, negative trends were overcome, and we expect to fully restore the total volume of supplies of our products to the Russian partner to the level of the successful 2008 in 2010," noted Vladimir Kolpakov. According to the results of 2009, the volume of supplies to KamAZ increased compared to 2008 for individual items (speedometers, instrument clusters) of VZEP products.
RUP "VZEP" was founded in 1948. The enterprise specializes in the production of electrical measuring instruments for measuring current, voltage, frequency, power, temperature, and pressure. Products are manufactured for ground measuring devices, onboard systems of vehicles, including aviation. The quality management system for the design, production, and maintenance of instrument products complies with the requirements of STB ISO 9001-2001.
