Vitebsk security forces competed in precision driving

Витебские силовики соревновались в фигурном вождении

Such competitions among law enforcement officers were organized for the first time in Belarus and took place on an asphalt court near one of the shops in the Bilevo microdistrict. Teams from the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Regional Executive Committee, the State Automobile Inspectorate, the KGB, the Prosecutor's Office, the Department of Security, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the 103rd Guards Separate Mobile Brigade, and military unit 97020 took part in the competition. A team of mass media representatives also competed with the drivers in uniform.

Initially, participants had to demonstrate their theoretical knowledge by answering questions on the Traffic Rules. Then, the jury assessed the practical skills of the drivers. They had to navigate a slalom course ("snake") without hitting any cones, drive in reverse between obstacles, make sharp turns, and perform a series of other maneuvers against the clock.

As a result, the team of the State Automobile Inspectorate Directorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate won the overall competition, the KGB team took second place, and the journalists came in third. As Igor Evseev, head of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Regional Executive Committee, stated at the opening ceremony of the competition, such events should become traditional and be held in an open format, so that drivers from utility services, medical personnel, etc., can join the law enforcement officers.
