Vitebsk dance ensemble "Lyavonikha" will hold a choreography masterclass in Daugavpils

Витебский ансамбль танца «Лявониха» проведет мастер-класс по хореографии в Даугавпилсе

The Daugavpils Centre of Latvian Culture (Latvia) and the State Institution "Vitebsk Culture Centre" (Belarus) continue the successful implementation of the project LLB-1-072 "Daugavpils and Vitebsk: Cultural Cooperation and Development" of the cross-border cooperation programme "LATVIA – LITHUANIA – BELARUS".

On March 24-25, 2012, a master class was held in the hall of the Vitebsk Culture Centre for the Honoured Amateur Collective of the Republic of Belarus, the dance ensemble "Lyavonikha". The mentors of the Belarusian collective were choreographer from Latvia Sarmite TEIVANE and the folklore song and dance group "SVATRA".

On April 5-7, 2013, the dance ensemble "Lyavonikha", led by Vladislav DRAKE, will pay a return visit to Daugavpils (Latvia). On a practical level, the participants of the Latgalian collective will become acquainted with Belarusian choreography using the example of "Staroselskaya Quadrille". This authentic choreographic composition consists of 5 parts: "Gulni", "Znamyostva", "Kanava", "Plyatsen", "Raskhadukha" and tells about how Belarusian folk festivals were held.
