The entrepreneurship support center, Limited Liability Company (LLC) "Vitebsk Business Center", assisted in attracting almost Br250 billion of investments into the economy of the Vitebsk region in 2010. The director of the enterprise, Leonid Shur, informed a BELTA correspondent about this. Last year, the center's specialists developed 20 investment business plans and business development plans, the implementation of which, in addition to investment outlays, provides for the creation of more than 1.5 thousand jobs. With the support of the business center, OJSC "Vitebsk Grain Processing Plant" plans to modernize its production facilities, and KUP "Shmyrev Experimental Enterprise" will build a dairy farm. An investment project for the construction of an elevator complex has been developed for OJSC "Vitebsk Oil Extraction Plant". A business plan for production expansion has been prepared for the foreign enterprise "Vitella", and several business plans provide for the creation of new production facilities, roadside service facilities, and tourist infrastructure. The most large-scale business plan for the investment project "Development of Suvorov Street in the city of Vitebsk" was developed by order of the city executive committee and serves as a model for territorial development. The project envisages the creation of the first pedestrian street in the regional center as a zone of sustainable socio-economic development. To enhance the tourist attractiveness of this part of the city, in addition to reconstructing a section of the street and improving the territory, it is planned to form a network of tourist centers, restore historical sites, and renovate architectural monuments. The expansion of existing and the creation of new service facilities are also envisaged here, including public catering establishments, shops, household service centers, medical and wellness centers, and bank payment and settlement centers. All necessary conditions for holding mass city-wide events, fairs, concerts, and folk festivals will be created on the pedestrian street. The entrepreneurship support center LLC "Vitebsk Business Center" was established in 1994. The main activities of the business center include assisting in attracting investments to the Vitebsk region, creating new enterprises and jobs, and stimulating private initiative. In 2010, the enterprise was the first in the region to receive the status of a technology transfer center. -0-
