The Vitebsk City Executive Committee is working on the issue of expanding the regional center by 3.3 thousand hectares

August 5, Vitebsk / Sergey Kotovets - BELTA /. The Vitebsk City Executive Committee is considering the issue of expanding the territory of the regional center by 3.3 thousand hectares. The first deputy chairman of the city executive committee, Vladimir Katashuk, informed journalists about this, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. Currently, proposals are being prepared to adjust the city's master plan, which include expanding the boundaries of the regional center. "Today, Vitebsk occupies an area of about 10 thousand hectares, and we propose to include the territory of the Vitebsk district along the perimeter of the regional center within the city limits," Vladimir Katashuk clarified. The lands are needed for the development of the city, including for the construction of high-rise residential buildings and individual housing construction, he added. Today, the main areas for housing construction in the regional center are several new microdistricts. For example, the development of the Bilevo-1 microdistrict is nearing completion, where 26 houses have already been built and about 10,000 people live. In total, 4.5 thousand apartments with a total area of 280 thousand square meters will be built in the microdistrict, which occupies an area of 46.3 hectares and is designed for 13,000 residents. Next, builders will begin active development of the territory for the Bilevo-2 microdistrict, where the first houses were commissioned in 2010 and their resettlement will begin in the near future. About 280 thousand square meters of residential area are also planned to be built here. In this direction, the city will grow in the future with the Bilevo-3 and Bilevo-4 microdistricts, which are in the design stage. Problematic issues for these urban territories are the underdevelopment of social infrastructure, the resolution of which the city authorities intend to pay close attention to, taking into account the opinions of the residents who have already settled here. Particular emphasis is placed on ensuring the accessibility of preschool institutions, the creation of retail infrastructure, and the formation of an optimal transport service scheme, Vladimir Katashuk emphasized. In 2011, the development of the Medtsentr microdistrict will be completed. Ten houses in various designs are planned to be commissioned this year in the new microdistrict, located at the entrance to the city near Titov Street. In addition to residential buildings and social service facilities, it is planned to create a recreation area around a small reservoir located here. The practice of point housing development in already formed urban areas will continue in the regional center. In this regard, the microdistrict in the area of Chapayev and Mira streets promises to be interesting, where it is planned to demolish eight dilapidated houses and build seven multi-story residential buildings (up to 20 floors) in their place. Currently, the project is undergoing examination, and issues of resettling residents are being worked out. Two houses in different parts of the city will be specially built for them. "Residents of the first houses designated for demolition are planned to be resettled this year before the start of the heating season, and subsequently, by the end of 2011, the demolition will be fully completed and the development of the prospective territory will begin," Vladimir Katashuk clarified. Based on the results of seven months, 112 thousand square meters of residential area have been commissioned in the regional center. By the end of the year, construction organizations face intensive work to fulfill the annual housing construction target, which is set at 300 thousand square meters, emphasized the first deputy head of the city. -0-
