Витебский городской Совет депутатов возглавил бывший коммунальник Владимир Белевич

A change of leadership has occurred in the Vitebsk City Council of Deputies. Deputy Vladimir Beleevich has been elected as the new head of the representative body of the regional center.

His predecessor, Mikhail Portnoy, as previously reported, has been appointed Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus and is moving to the capital.

The deputies addressed the personnel issue and honored their colleague at an extraordinary session of the city council held on March 19.

Vladimir Beleevich is a non-partisan, and will turn 41 this year. The new head was elected to the city council from the Leningradsky District No. 36, holding the position of head of the DKURREP "ZhRET of the Railway District". In 2015, a decision was made to reorganize this enterprise by merging it with the ZhRET of the Oktyabrsky District, as it found itself in a difficult financial situation and, for a number of reasons, could not function independently. In the 27th convocation of the city council, Vladimir Beleevich is active in the standing commission on urban economy, management of communal property, transport and communications.
