Vitebsk State Medical University celebrated its 85th anniversary
On November 1, a large team of students, faculty, and staff of Vitebsk State Medical University, with the participation of honored guests, celebrated its 85th anniversary.
The day, significant in the history of the university, began with a rather business-like event – the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Medical Education of the 21st Century: Development of the "University 3.0" Model". The scientific forum was attended by faculty from all medical universities and other educational institutions of our country, as well as guests from near and far abroad, representing Croatia, Moldova, Ukraine, and the Russian Federation. At the plenary session, during the work of the sections, at master classes, and at a "round table" (a total of 67 reports were heard), they discussed the problems and prospects for the development of the "University 3.0" model. The essence of this so-called third stage of university advancement is that the modern stage of development, in addition to training professional personnel and conducting scientific research for the industrial sector, requires them to make a more active contribution to the development of a knowledge-based economy. This includes the commercialization of research and development results and the creation of new science-intensive enterprises.

Vitebsk Medical University has already taken many steps to implement such a model and sets ambitious goals for further attracting additional financial resources to support its activities, expanding the range of innovative teaching methods, and establishing close interaction with the business community, where the developments of university researchers will be increasingly implemented.
