Vitebsk State Technological College and Polotsk State Forestry College will be merged with Belarusian State Technological University

A total of five colleges will be affiliated with Belarusian State Technological University as separate divisions. This is stated in the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of March 30, 2013 No. 240.

According to the document, educational institutions that will undergo reorganization include those in the Vitebsk region. These are Vitebsk State Technological College and Polotsk State Forestry College.

In addition, the Council of Ministers' resolution outlines a set of measures aimed at creating an industry-specific, practice-oriented, integrated system for training workers and specialists, and improving conditions for scientific, technical, and innovative activities. Among the steps outlined in the document are the opening of educational, scientific, and production centers, as well as educational and scientific industry laboratories in the basic organizations that are the customers of personnel for BSTU. These organizations will be represented in the university's self-governing (management) bodies.
