Vitebsk State University has established 4 educational, scientific, and consulting centers at secondary schools

October 22, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov established four educational, scientific, and consulting centers at secondary schools in Vitebsk in 2010, Sergey Bogomaz, Head of the Department of Psychology at VSU, told a BELTA correspondent. This innovative form of cooperation is designed to ensure long-term research and educational-methodological interaction between the university and general education schools. It will improve the quality of student education and contribute to the development of professional competencies of teachers and educators, as well as the implementation of innovations and modern technologies in the educational process of both the university and the city's secondary schools, Sergey Bogomaz noted. When establishing the consulting centers, the university assisted schools in providing them with computer equipment, transferred a database of thesis works of university graduates, and formed a library of methodological and reference literature. Currently, with the support of university specialists, Internet representations of schools are being created. The basis of interaction within the framework of the consulting center is the joint activities of university teachers, students, and secondary school educators. This cooperation covers various areas, such as joint diagnostic and consulting activities, conducting scientific and practical conferences and methodological associations of educators, and organizing research work with schoolchildren and students. University students undergo practical training and internships at the consulting centers, and practical classes within the university's educational process are also held directly at schools. At the educational, scientific, and consulting centers, a network of scientific clubs has been organized for both students and gifted schoolchildren who are interested in in-depth study of school curriculum subjects. Cooperation in the format of such centers also provides an opportunity for targeted career guidance work among schoolchildren and for preparing future university applicants from among school graduates, Sergey Bogomaz added. -0-
