Vitebsk and Daugavpils art centers will sign a cooperation agreement

On November 14, the Days of Latvia will open in Vitebsk. In addition to traditional concerts and exhibitions, this year's program includes another important event – the signing of a partnership agreement between the Marc Chagall Art Center in Vitebsk and the Mark Rothko Art Center in Daugavpils.

Dagnija Lace-Ate, head of the Consulate of the Republic of Latvia in Vitebsk, believes that the document will create a legal basis for more active cultural cooperation and will also help resolve many organizational issues arising in this area.

Lyudmila Khmelnitskaya, director of the Marc Chagall Museum in Vitebsk, agrees with her:

— Already next year, we will exchange exhibitions with our colleagues from Daugavpils. On the other hand, many tourists from Europe and the USA visit the Mark Rothko Art Center. We want them to visit us in Vitebsk from Latvia. In turn, we will offer Russians visiting the Chagall Museum and Art Center to travel to Daugavpils.
