Vitebsk bricklayer won the professional skills competition 'Belarusian Master — 2018'
The competition was held in Mogilev at the base of Professional Lyceum No. 9 named after A. Starovoitov. Representatives of the regions and the capital competed for the title of the best. Participants had to lay 11 rows of masonry, with 14 bricks in each. The height of the competition work was over 1.2 meters. Points were awarded for quality, time of completion, and the use of advanced methods and labor techniques.
All contenders demonstrated a high level of skill, so it was not easy for the jury to determine the winner.
— Today, the profession of a bricklayer is in high demand. The competition is career-oriented, aimed at increasing the prestige of the working person, and helps specialists improve the quality and productivity of their work, acquire advanced experience, and enhance their qualifications, — said Sergei Vovk, Chairman of the regional committee of the Belarusian Trade Union of Construction and Construction Materials Industry Workers. — The competition is held for the second year. Andrei Levkov has represented Vitebsk region twice. Last year, he took fourth place.
The leadership of the regional trade union association and construction trust No. 9 congratulated the country's best bricklayer on his victory.

Andrei Levkov graduated from the Vitebsk vocational lyceum with a specialization in "bricklayer" and has been working in the separate structural unit No. 38 of the enterprise since 2009. He immediately proved himself as a high-level craftsman, and after a couple of years, he was awarded the 5th category. This was facilitated by self-study and the help of senior colleagues. The young man also gained experience at such complex and responsible facilities as the polyclinic in the Yug-7 microdistrict, a kindergarten in Bilevo, and buildings under construction in the border regions of Russia.
