May 30, Minsk / Tatiana Chumakova - BELTA /. In January-April of the current year, Vitebsk Silk Fabric Combine OJSC increased its exports by 23.8% to $2.6 million compared to the same period in 2009, the enterprise informed a BELTA correspondent. The growth was due to increased supplies to Russia and a reduced impact of the global financial and economic crisis, the OJSC noted. In May, the enterprise made a trial shipment of its products to Ukraine. Fabrics with a shielding effect, protecting against electromagnetic radiation, were sent to this country. Among Belarusian enterprises, such fabrics are purchased by Baranovichi's "Barovchanka", Gomel's "Komintern", Novogrudok Sewing Factory, and Bobruisk's "Slavyanka". The first trial shipment of OJSC products to Armenia is planned for June. Viscose lining fabrics for sewing clothes for security forces will be sent there, the Vitebsk combine shared its plans. In general, the enterprise's export share of the total volume of products sold is up to 70%. Currently, the Vitebsk combine makes regular supplies only to Russia. Most of the products are shipped to the Central Federal District of the Russian Federation. The enterprise regularly undergoes technical re-equipment. In particular, this year Vitebsk OJSC plans to purchase about a dozen new weaving looms for over 1 million euros. At the end of last year, equipment for dyeing fabrics for workwear was commissioned at the combine. Before that, such fabrics were dyed in Russia. In January-April of the current year, the enterprise produced commodity products at comparable prices worth Br9.5 billion, with a growth rate of 114% compared to the same period in 2009. Consumer goods worth over Br2 billion were produced (104.5%). Inventories of finished products as of May 1 amounted to 146.5% of the average monthly output volume. The enterprise was founded in 1955.
