Vitebsk Silk Fabric Combine is negotiating the establishment of a trading house in Kazakhstan
December 2, Minsk / Tatiana Chumakova - BELTA /. Vitebsk Silk Fabric Combine OJSC is negotiating with a Kazakh company on the creation of a joint trading house, Oleg Frolov, Deputy Director and Head of the Supply and Sales Department of the enterprise, told a BELTA correspondent.
The Vitebsk manufacturer is interested in selling shirt, lining and raincoat fabrics in the trading house. By selling these products to Kazakh buyers, the enterprise expects to meet the demand for clothing production, primarily for law enforcement agencies. The Vitebsk Combine does not currently export products to Kazakhstan; a trial shipment is planned for next week.
The enterprise recently made a trial shipment of shirt fabrics to Russia, which it has been producing for less than a year and selling on the domestic market. In general, the combine's export share is about 85%. The combine is increasing the export of its own products and is moving away from fulfilling tolling orders. Based on the results of the first eleven months of the current year, shipments of products from the Vitebsk manufacturer abroad increased by approximately 20% compared to the same period in 2009. Taking into account the fulfillment of tolling orders, exports decreased by approximately 14% to $5.4 million.
Based on the results of ten months, the enterprise produced products at comparable prices for almost Br21 billion (92.2% compared to the same period in 2009). The profitability of sold products for January-October was 5.7%.
The Vitebsk combine regularly undergoes technical re-equipment. This year, OJSC plans to purchase about a dozen new looms for more than 1 million euros. At the end of last year, equipment for dyeing fabrics for workwear was commissioned at the combine. Before that, such fabrics were dyed in Russia.
The enterprise was founded in 1955. It produces lining, raincoat, corset, technical fabrics, as well as shirt, decorative and shielding fabrics. For the production of products, the combine uses polyester, polyamide, viscose threads, and cotton yarn. In 2010, the product range will be updated by approximately 30%. The enterprise is part of the "Bellegprom" concern. About 270 people work here. -0-
