Vitebsk oil extraction plant reduced its product stocks by 4 times since the beginning of April

August 25, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. Vitebsk Oil Extraction Plant OJSC has reduced its finished goods inventory by 4 times since early April this year, by Br9 billion, which has allowed the plant to achieve sufficiently stable operation, Vladimir Ermolik, the enterprise director, told a BELTA correspondent. Today, the remaining finished goods (rapeseed oil of grades "R" and "T") in warehouses do not exceed Br3 billion in value. This result was achieved, among other things, by revising the approaches to the sales system, which is now formed based on consumer requirements. Rapeseed oil is in demand both in domestic and foreign markets. The plant's export policy is also formed depending on the prices on the global vegetable oil market and changes in the demands of domestic oil processing enterprises, the head explained. "The work carried out, including in the area of cost reduction, has allowed the plant to achieve break-even sales of products and operate rhythmically, feeling competitive in the foreign market as well," Vladimir Ermolik noted. Today, more than 80% of rapeseed oil is supplied to the Baltic countries, Western Europe, and Scandinavia. Currently, Vitebsk Oil Extraction Plant is procuring winter rapeseed oilseeds. With a state supply volume of 65 thousand tons, the enterprise has already procured 77 thousand tons of this oil crop. The main suppliers of raw materials are agricultural organizations from Brest, Mogilev, Gomel, and Vitebsk regions, with farms in Vitebsk region accounting for about 70% of the total procurement volume. According to the director's assessment, in the current season, the enterprise will receive about 10 thousand tons more of spring rapeseed, which will generally allow it to provide production with raw materials until the new harvest of next year. The plant was founded in 1931 and is the largest producer of unrefined vegetable oil in Belarus. It produces more than 30% of the total volume of crude oils in Belarus. The plant produces rapeseed oil for food and technical purposes, and also produces rapeseed meal. In 2007, the international quality management system ISO 9001-2001 was implemented at the enterprise.
