Vitebsk fraudster bought mobile phones for Br23 million at someone else's expense
July 22, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. A Vitebsk swindler bought mobile phones worth Br23 million at the expense of other citizens, Igor Tsyvinsky, assistant prosecutor of the Pervomaisky district of Vitebsk, told a BELTA correspondent.
Having been released from places of deprivation of liberty, a 23-year-old resident of Vitebsk concluded that robbery is still not good. Therefore, after thinking, he found a way to make people part with money voluntarily. The guy gained the trust of unfamiliar individuals suffering from alcoholism and, accordingly, a regular shortage of cash. For a small reward of Br30-80 thousand and alcohol, he offered to buy a mobile phone on credit, assuring that the clients, to whom he would then sell the mobile phones, would pay for the purchase.
More than ten people responded to the tempting offer. The residents of the regional center were prompted to contact the police by phone bills, which soon began to regularly arrive in their names. The swindler was caught thanks to a theft, which, unable to abandon his old habits, he committed.
For fraud and theft, the guy was sentenced to four years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.-0-
