Vitebsk Regional Maternity Hospital to be repurposed for COVID-19 patient care
The healthcare facility is designed for 150 beds. Medical care at the maternity hospital will be provided with strict adherence to sanitary and epidemiological requirements and quarantine measures. "Pregnant women with COVID-19 infection from Vitebsk and all districts of the region will give birth here," noted Mikhail Vishnevetsky.
Upon admission of patients to the maternity hospital, specialists will promptly conduct an interdisciplinary consultation involving the deputy chief physician for medical affairs, an infectious disease specialist, an anesthesiologist-resuscitator, and a therapist to determine the examination and treatment plan. If necessary, consultations with narrow specialists will be provided.
In the Vitebsk region, there is a continued active increase in the incidence of diseases. Hospitalizations in both Vitebsk and the region as a whole exceed discharges. Many healthcare facilities have been repurposed to receive patients with coronavirus. Over 1.7 thousand oxygen points have been created in the region's hospitals, and there are about 250 artificial lung ventilation devices. Mandatory mask regimes are being introduced in districts and cities.
