December 5, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee intends to allocate about Br100 billion for the improvement of the regional center in 2010. This was announced today by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, during his visit to construction sites in Vitebsk, BELTA correspondent reports.
There are still quite a few long-term construction projects in Vitebsk. For example, the Mogilev market has been under construction since 1984, and work on the "Reconstruction of the Zhuravinka restaurant" object has not been carried out for three years. The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee demanded that the city leadership establish order in the construction sector, complete work on the listed objects in 2010, and accelerate the pace of work on the construction of the "Marko-City" business center and the second stage of the Summer Amphitheater construction. "Delays in construction are unacceptable, as they lead to an increase in the cost of work and the squandering of resources," he stressed.
Alexander Kosinets compared the construction industry to a locomotive that, in the conditions of an economic crisis, can carry many sectors of the economy forward. This year, construction organizations in the region have created more than 1,000 jobs. -0-
