Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee will allocate Br15 billion to strengthen the material base of the P. Masherov University

November 26, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. The Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee will allocate Br15 billion to strengthen the material base of the P. Masherov University. This was stated by the chairman of the regional executive committee, Alexander Kosinets, today at a ceremony at the Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the university, according to a BELTA correspondent. According to the head of the region, the opening of the teacher's institute in Vitebsk in 1910 was an epoch-making event for the region. Over the century-long history of the university, effective, high-quality training of personnel has remained its constant core. Today, the country faces the task of forming human capital, so the university's activities are of particular importance. Innovations everywhere and in everything is the leitmotif of the state's development for the next five-year plan, and the formation of a creative personality, which will create innovations, depends on the quality of the university's work, Alexander Kosinets noted. In recent years, the state university has done a great deal of work to improve the educational process and training of specialists, and much attention is paid to the development of the university's material and technical base. At the same time, there are many problems, the possible solutions of which Alexander Kosinets announced directly from the rostrum at the solemn meeting. Thus, the regional executive committee allocated Br5 billion to the university for the reconstruction of the stadium, which is located next to the main academic building. Another gift from the regional executive committee was a modern electronic library with 30 seats with access to the resources of the National Library of Belarus. In the next three years, it is planned to build a new academic building of the university, which will house the Faculty of Law. In addition, the regional executive committee will allocate about Br10 billion to solve the issue of providing students with dormitories. "The central figure of any university is its majesty the student, teachers should surround him with parental love and care, and this is the key to the success of any educational institution," Alexander Kosinets is convinced. With the support of the regional executive committee, VSU will be able to provide dormitory places for 500 students who are currently forced to rent housing. -0-
