The Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee has established awards to support young talents in the field of art
November 12, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. The Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee has established 16 awards for the first time to support talented youth who have demonstrated high performance skills at regional, national and international competitions and festivals. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the culture department of the regional executive committee.
Students of children's art schools and secondary specialized educational institutions, whose giftedness and talents have been recognized during creative competitions of various levels both in the country and abroad, will be able to become contenders for the laureate title. Based on the results of 2010, ten gifted students of children's art schools will be awarded prizes in the amount of 15 basic units each, and six students of secondary specialized educational institutions will be awarded prizes in the amount of 20 basic units (currently one basic unit is equal to Br35 thousand). Departments of culture of city and district executive committees, as well as administrations of secondary specialized educational institutions, have the right to nominate candidates for the awards.
A multi-stage system of competition and festival events has been created in the region, which contributes to the identification and support of gifted children and the development of their creative potential. The establishment of awards by the regional executive committee will become another factor in stimulating the creative development of children and adolescents, encouraging the purposefulness and diligence of young talents, and should also contribute to their positive professional self-determination.
The summing up and solemn awarding of the prize laureates will take place at the end of 2010. In the future, it is planned to establish awards annually.
There are 86 children's art schools in the region, attended by about 15 thousand children, as well as 3 secondary specialized educational institutions, where more than 800 adolescents are learning the basics of creative professions. -0-
