Vitebsk animal shelter will hold an open day

Витебский приют для бездомных животных проведет день открытых дверей

Anyone can get acquainted with the life of stray Shariks and Murziks on March 1 – World Cat Day.

The animals at the shelter are vaccinated and spayed/neutered, and they are eagerly awaiting their future owners, to whom they can give affection, devotion, and selfless love. In turn, the shelter staff hope that kind people will share food, medicine, and warm bedding with their less fortunate brethren. Monetary donations are also welcome.

Currently, the Vitebsk shelter for homeless animals is in a difficult situation. The special vehicle depot, on whose balance sheet it is, is carrying out staff reductions, and it is difficult to manage without the help of volunteers. There is hope that on the open day, some of the pets will find their homes. To do this, all potential adopters of furry friends need to bring their passports, collars, or special carriers.

Currently, the shelter houses about 130 dogs, 70 puppies, and 30 cats. It is overcrowded, and therefore does not accept other animals at the moment. During the shelter's existence, about 1.5 thousand cats and kittens, and approximately 1.2 thousand adult dogs and puppies have been rehomed from the city streets to new families.
