Vitebsk Center for Standardization, Metrology and Certification celebrated its 100th anniversary

The enterprise traces its history back to 1922, when the Vitebsk Branch of the Petrograd Chamber of Weights and Measures was established. Today, it is a modern institution whose activities are aimed at implementing a unified state policy in the field of conformity assessment, ensuring the uniformity of measurements, technical regulation, and standardization.

Heads of authorities and partner enterprises, the staff, and veterans gathered in the hall of the regional philharmonic. Welcoming the attendees, the Director of VSCMS, Pavel Yakovlev, noted that the enterprise's staff is one big family, a community of like-minded people. Its main asset is specialists of the highest professionalism and responsibility; this is its strength and success.

The Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus, Valentin Tataritsky, emphasized that VSCMS is one of the best in the system, which is largely due to Pavel Yakovlev. Under his leadership, the staff, in these challenging times, confidently moves shoulder to shoulder with industry, carrying out essential coordination work so that the brand "Made in Belarus" is recognized in many countries around the world. Valentin Tataritsky presented the Director of VSCMS with a certificate worth 100 thousand rubles to strengthen the enterprise's material and technical base.

The Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Anzhelika Nikitina, read out a joint congratulatory address from the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, and the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev. It stated that over the years of our country's independence, the whole world has become convinced that what is made in Belarus is a mark of quality. "We rightly take pride in the high standards in various sectors of the economy, and your team deserves great credit for this. Over the years of its operation, the VCCSMS has repeatedly proven its strategic importance for the region and the country. Today, you are making a worthy contribution to innovative development, improving the quality and competitiveness of products, goods, and services, and ensuring consumer safety. Thanks to your scientific and intellectual potential, dedication, and responsibility, new developments are actively being implemented in various sectors of the national economy."
