Vitebsk avant-garde artist Alexander Solovyov donated 32 of his paintings to the Art Museum
Our renowned avant-garde artist, Honored Artist of Belarus, and Great Patriotic War veteran Alexander Solovyov has donated 32 works to the Art Museum.
The graphic compositions, created by the artist over different years, were added to the collection after the exhibition "Our Eternal Nature. Colors of the Earth. Color, Rhythm, Space" concluded at the Art Museum.
The exhibition's title is not accidental for Alexander Alexandrovich, who always emphasizes that nature is our primary teacher. "I decided to showcase improvisations that reflect a free perspective on the world, yet not a single brushstroke was made from life. This is my flight into the unknown," — Alexander Alexandrovich shared.
According to the artist, the exhibition provides an opportunity to view oneself from an external perspective, especially since many works had been kept at home in folders for several years.
Solovyov's graphic compositions are rich in color, emotional, and evoke a sincere response from any soul capable of marveling at life's glimmers and embracing the unexpected with curiosity.
The opening reception for A. Solovyov's exhibition, as always, was well-attended. Solovyov's personality possesses magnetic qualities, and his artistic experience is captivating. Visitors attend his exhibitions not only to admire his graphics or paintings but also to listen to Alexander Solovyov—the artist, philosopher, and erudite. It has long been observed that his words at exhibitions are perceived as programmatic statements.
Alexander Solovyov expresses his hope to prepare a new exhibition for his 90th birthday, where the audience might see a different Solovyov, as the flight into the unknown continues.
