Vitebsk Electrical Measuring Instruments Plant will supply multiplex panels for KAMAZ vehicles

October 20, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA/. OJSC "Vitebsk Plant of Electrical Measuring Equipment" (VZEP) has supplied the first industrial batch of multiplex control panels using CAN communication technology for Russian OJSC "KamAZ" vehicles, Chief Engineer of the enterprise Vladimir Kolpakov told a BELTA correspondent. Under the order of Russian automakers, VZEP developed the ShP-8107 control panel, which provides for the collection and transmission of information via the CAN bus. The new product is designed for installation in Euro-4 class vehicles and higher. The multiplex panel allows monitoring of 19 parameters and diagnostics of the vehicle's onboard systems, including displaying indicators affecting driving safety on the monitor. After the new product passes on-site tests at KamAZ, Vitebsk instrument makers plan to start serial supplies at the end of October. In accordance with the contract, the enterprise will ship up to 60 such products per month to the Kama Automobile Plant. Previously, similar equipment was developed for the Minsk Automobile Plant, which began serial installation of VZEP multiplex control panels in trucks in 2010. This year, Vitebsk instrument makers will begin production of two more new devices for KamAZ - PA-8115 speedometers and PT-8114 tachometers, developed at the enterprise. In addition, for the Pavlovsky Bus Plant, part of the GAZ group of companies, the Vitebsk enterprise intends to introduce several devices into production, including the BI-8135 indicator unit for warning lamps and the PB-8136 speed sensor, for various bus models. In January-September, the Vitebsk plant mastered the production of over 20 products, and another 11 new products will be launched into serial production by the end of this year. Almost all of the enterprise's new products, including eight types of consumer goods, have been developed under the import substitution program. In this area, VZEP actively cooperates with OJSC "MAZ", on whose order Vitebsk instrument makers have already introduced four new products into production this year and are preparing for serial production, including a speedometer with a CAN interface and a fuel control pedal. The Vitebsk Plant of Electrical Measuring Equipment was founded in 1948. The enterprise, which was corporatized in 2010, specializes in the production of electrical measuring instruments for measuring current, voltage, frequency, power, temperature, and pressure. Products are manufactured for ground measuring devices and onboard systems of vehicles, including aviation. The quality management system for the design, production, and maintenance of instrument products complies with the requirements of STB ISO 9001-2001.
