Vitebsk House-Building Plant completed a production modernization project worth Br140.7 billion.

The large-panel housing construction plant of RUP "Vitebsk DSK" has completed a production modernization project, the chief engineer of the enterprise, Nikolai Machikho, told a BELTA correspondent. The project cost Br140.7 billion, including Br96.5 billion for equipment acquisition. The enterprise's modernization was carried out throughout 2009-2011. The plant has insulated facades, replaced the roofing, and virtually completely updated the technological equipment and lines in the molding and concrete mixing shops. Modern Italian, German, and partially Belarusian production lines have been installed, and automatic concrete feeding has been implemented, which significantly increases labor efficiency. In addition, during the project implementation, the plant reconstructed the manufactured house series: now the enterprise can produce high-rise buildings with free layouts up to 16 floors. "Apartment layouts can be very diverse. We can fulfill whatever the customer requires," noted Nikolai Machikho. The project implementation has allowed the large-panel housing construction plant to increase its design production capacity by 2-2.5 times to 240 thousand sq.m per year, significantly improve the quality of manufactured products, and enhance working conditions for plant employees. Further modernization plans are related to the reconstruction of the polygon (a separate open-type shop); it is also planned to connect a second railway line to the enterprise to increase the material unloading area, and a number of other prospects are being considered. The enterprise was founded in 1964. Its main activity is the production of reinforced concrete and concrete products of the KPD 111-108 series for the completion of large-panel houses. It also produces general construction products, commercial concrete and mortar, commercial reinforcement, and metal structures. The plant area is 17 hectares. It includes two molding shops, two concrete mixing shops with a loading and unloading section, reinforcement shops, a repair and mechanical shop, a technological equipment shop, etc. The number of employees is over 600 people. -0-
