Vitebsk plant "Stankoremont" has produced a prototype of a unique device for treating sciatica

Unitary enterprise "Vitebsk Stankoremont Plant" has developed and produced a prototype of unique medical equipment - a vertical underwater spinal traction unit with automatic hydromassage, the enterprise director Leonid Krivoshey told a BELTA correspondent. Such medical equipment is not produced in Belarus, and global analogues are significantly inferior in the effectiveness of therapeutic impact. At the same time, medical institutions are showing interest in acquiring such equipment, Leonid Krivoshey noted. The unit is designed for comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation of patients with osteochondrosis, radiculitis, and gout. The equipment allows for effective decompression of intervertebral discs in modes of dosed spinal traction with simultaneous hydromassage of back muscles. Its main difference from imported analogues is the equipping with vibromassage, including for the cervicothoracic spine. In addition, modern materials and components from leading global manufacturers are used in the production of the unit. The unit was developed in the enterprise's design bureau based on a patented design by Honored Inventor of Belarus Anatoly Bartashevich, which incorporates the methodology of Vitebsk neurologist Alexander Marchenko. Currently, Stankoremont's medical development is undergoing certification by the Ministry of Health of Belarus, and in the future, a similar procedure is planned to be carried out in Russia, where medical institutions have also shown interest in the Vitebsk unit. It can be used both in inpatient medical institutions and in sanatorium-resort organizations where relevant services are provided. The first order for the unit was received by Vitebsk machine builders from the health resort "Zheleznyaki" of RUP "Vitebskenergo". The production of medical equipment will become a new area of activity for the plant, which specializes in the repair and modernization of surface grinding and cylindrical grinding machines, and in the development of machine tools for the shipbuilding industry. In addition, in 2009, the enterprise began developing equipment for the flax processing industry, in particular flax pullers, machines for twisting flax fiber, and presses. Such equipment is not produced in Belarus, and the potential and production capacities of Stankoremont allow for the mastering of the production of import-substituting equipment for flax processing plants, Leonid Krivoshey is confident.
